What is the Blessing Design Team?

So, what on earth IS the Blessing Design Team?

Well, I'm so glad you asked!

The Blessing Design Team blossomed out of an idea that came to founder Barb Chalmers, owner of the interior design and consulting company Restoration Details. One Sunday morning during church back in 2011, Chalmers was wondering how God could could use her to serve others through her love for making things pretty. She knew there were women in her Holmes County, Ohio community who were going through tough times--loss of a spouse, health difficulties, disabled children, financial burdens--and she wanted to help make a difference in their lives.

Her idea was to encourage those women by making a beautiful space for them to live in, a place where they could refresh their souls and spirits. She shared her idea with others who caught her vision, and, just like that, the Blessing Design Team was born.

Since then, the Blessing Design Team has touched the lives of not only those whose homes have been transformed, but those who have joined the team as well.

To make the mission successful, the team relies on the community to raise funds. One way that happens is through the annual Blessing Designs Christmas Home Tour. This year's tour will take place on Friday, November 21 from 4-9 pm.

This fun, festive holiday event gives you a chance to step into five Holmes County, Ohio homes in the area that have their halls decked out for the holidays. Each will feature food, drinks, and a clever design tip from the team. Some stops will even offer live music! It's a great way to get your holiday inspiration on while being a very real part of the blessing of one individual woman in your community.

Tickets are available now and can be purchased at Rebecca's Bistro, The Linley House, and Bfearless, all in Walnut Creek, Ohio as well as Amish Heartland Tours and Information Kiosk in Berlin, Ohio and Modern Farmhouse in Millersburg, Ohio. Tickets are $25 per person and all proceeds go toward the redesign of the home of a local woman.

Stay tuned for details, and keep an eye here for more information on how YOU can nominate a recipient for this year's Blessing Design Team renovation!
